september.

day 29. reading katherine mansfield's, the doll's house. spooning salted caramel and white chocolate gelato from messina. saving silvers for a bunny bag to match my cat-face clutch. humming along to the paper kites's new ep, young north. and tomorrow, the last day of the month...
feeling ill from too-too-many raw brownies.

my favourite place.

nothing is nicer than being surrounded by your bits and belongings tucked away in your own secret space. it saddens me that in a little less than a week i will no longer come home to my bedroom with its pink streamer-like curtains and old rickety furniture balancing leaning books and ceramic critters. inspired by silly, joyful dreams Lucky Boy Sunday and their collection of softies and wooden wonders are at the top of my 'new room' wish list. this hanging pot is beary close behind, as are these pretty paper bowls sweet for housing trinkets. of course my 'new' towering bed will need 'new' shoes (pretty pegs) and it is always fun to play in overalls speckled in paint after a trip to Ikea. don't believe me? be sure to visit Emily over at The Sweet Beast. oh! and i will need a 'new' chair to place somewhere in the corner. sigh! there really is no place like home...

count me in

YA-NE-SEN a Go Go,
directed and animated by Shishi Yamazaki.

tonite the girlies and i are going for a bit of a boogie. we have the fever! perhaps a visit past Chinatown on the way home is in order?! it is after-all too easy to be lured by its bright lights and hide-and-seek lanes. plus, one of my dance partners is on an 'eat rice wrapped in seaweed and stuffed with cucumber' diet. when i say diet i really mean pursuit. Chinatown is a Go Go!! soy sauce and wasabi me please!

oh, for the love of colour (and cake)

apricot jam, rose water, pinot noir... these are some of the cupcake frosting shades you will be able to dip your paint brush (butter knife) into with this handy-dandy icing colour chart. all you need is a friendship of red (r), yellow (y), blue (b) and green (g) food dye and you have yourself a rainbow of frosting opportunity. budding artists/bakers can get an itty-bit better of a look at the colour chart and DIY know-how over at a favourite of mine, Oh the Lovely Things. now to decide between mint chip: 3 drops (b), 1 drop (g) and blueberry yoghurt: 5 drops (b), 3 drops (r) as decorative deliciousness? isn't this chart the cherry on top?!

a travelogue.

saving every last penny in an attempt to fluff my feathers, spread my wings and take flight come the beginning of our other half's cold season, Similar Winters, a short film by Koo Chia Meng for Issue 1 of Casual Days warms my blue hands and gives me good reason to eat frozen peas and drink instant coffee.

do not tempt me as i am spoken for.

anyone who knows me and my wardrobe knows i need not another vintage dress. anyone who knows me and my wardrobe knows i could never say no... not to a dress made for twirling, not to a dress from the tailors stories. jessie x x
